50 Puerto Rico teachers participate in IHF beach handball course
IHF lecturer Fernando Posada has described the beach handball courses that concluded in Puerto Rico on Sunday as a great success. From February 7 to 10, Posada ran two courses designed to prepare both teachers and coaches for the demands of educating and training others in beach handball.
The two courses were designed for participants of different professional and beach handball backgrounds. One was aimed at Physical Education teachers and the second was for coaches who attended the previous IHF courses run in Puerto Rico.
The course for teachers began with the basics, looking at the fundamentals of beach handball, the rules of the game, and how to play in attack and defence. More than 50 teachers took part, and Posada was very pleased with the opportunity to introduce such a number to the discipline.
The advanced course for coaches focused on the latest trends in international beach handball competitions, coaching tactics and physical preparation. Posada ran the first course for these participants two years ago.
The beach handball course was organised in joint cooperation between the Puerto Rican Handball Federation, the Handball Association of Barbados, and the Dominica Handball Association.
